Bingkai Karya – Multi-platinum pop-rock band LANY is officially back, opening a brand-new chapter with the release of “Know You Naked”, the first single from their highly anticipated album Soft, due out October 10 via Virgin Music. Alongside the single, the band has dropped the official music video, giving fans a cinematic introduction to this new era.
At its heart, “Know You Naked” is a poetic and vulnerable love letter. Frontman Paul Klein delivers a stunning vocal performance layered over the track’s unique sonic contrasts, an almost-industrial, dissonant guitar undercurrent, sharp synth stabs, punchy snares, and fleeting bursts of glitchy static. While the song stays rooted in LANY’s signature intimacy and nostalgia, it also pushes their sound into more adventurous territory, signaling a fearless creative direction.
Soft marks LANY’s first full-length release in two years. Thematically and visually, the album thrives on contrast: physical toughness versus emotional openness. Inspired by deeply personal experiences, the project explores the challenge of resisting emotional hardening while protecting one’s vulnerability with a stronger outer shell.
“It’s so easy to let the challenges of the world harden you,” Klein reflects. “The hardest thing to do is to fight against it to stay soft. To protect your softness and the things that you love.”
Every track on Soft was co-written by Klein, infused with the heartfelt lyricism that has earned LANY a global fanbase. Familiar elements, soft piano ballads, West Coast indie guitars, and bedroom pop textures return but are reimagined through a more refined and expansive production style. Across its ten tracks, the album blends warmth and honesty with a matured, confident sound.
