The City Government (Pemkot) of Malang is speeding up a number of creative economy subsectors in an effort to improve the economy. One of the new things is the inauguration of Malang’s first e-sports House (M-Zone) and UMKM center, which will be a place for talented esports players. The M-zone and UMKM center will be inaugurated by Malang’s Mayor, Sutiaji, at Perumda Tunas Malang City.
This inauguration is done by the government because they are acknowledging the potential of its gaming industry. Malang has e-sport players with 3400 students who have an IT background. Hence, they are trying to accommodate and develop the potential of its e-sport field.
Sutiaji, the Mayor of Malang City said that Malang has an amazing potential on its IT background. Hopefully, Malang City will become an incubation for young people related to gaming and that This smart idea can become a top-notch ecosystem. Dodot Tri Widodo, President Director of Perumda Tunas Malang seems to also agree with this statement.

The selection of Perumda Tunas as a place for M-Zone is based on several considerations. One of them is that Perumda Tunas is considered to have a core business, especially in the field of information and technology. M-Zone will be the place for implementation in the field, while later in the Malang Creative Center (MCC) building will be the incubation.
M-Zone will be open free for the public to use. Various gaming facilities will be provided such as computers, giant screens and many more that will be supported by a very high internet connection. The community can use it to game as however they wished for. However, not only for gaming purposes, M-Zone will also provide facilities for streaming and podcasting.
