Malang Enlivens Inacraft, Southeast Asia’s Biggest Exhibition with Crafts and Fashion Products

Malang participated in The International Handmade Trade Fair. The International Handmade Trade Fair, often known as Inacraft, is one of the biggest craft product exhibits in Southeast Asia held in the Jakarta Convention Center from March 1–5, 2023. On this occasion, Malang presented various handicraft and fashion events typical of the city of Malang.

South Sulawesi Province was chosen as an icon with the theme “Form Smart Village to Global Market” at the 23rd Inacraft. Sandiaga Salahudin Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, spoke in honor of the President of the Republic of Indonesia and officially started the event. Hj. Widayati Sutiaji, the chairman of Dekranasda Malang City, also attended as a companion for Dekranasda Malang City at the event.

Hj. Widayati Sutiaji was very grateful that Dekranasda Malang City is participating in the Inacraft exhibition to promote the handicrafts and fashion made in Malang City. She said that she hoped that products from the city of Malang could be recognized nationally and provide additional value for craftsmen assisted by Dekranasda. She also added that the collaboration of the government and Dekranasda would greatly support success in participating in the Inacraft event.

Moreover, Hj. Widayati Sutiaji also said that there were quite a lot of enthusiasts at the booth in Malang with many visits and sales that were selling well. Some of the mainstay products of Dekranasda Malang City such as fashion products belonging to Luxmiere, Antique Batik, Janeeta Kebaya, Eva Unique Accessories Sundari Batik and clay doll crafts at this year’s Inacraft exhibition. Sandiaga Uno said that he hoped that Inacraft would be the largest craft event in Asia to raise the spirit and economy of MSMEs in Indonesia. This year, Inacraft was attended by 1,118 MSMEs who filled 1,200 booths consisting of 904 ASEPHI members, 214 non-members, 61 ministries-assisted participants, 35 SOEs, and 255 Dekranasda-assisted participants. In addition, it was also attended by several special international guests.
