In order to celebrate Krida Agriculture Day and promote Malang City’s tourism charm, the Malang City Government held an event called the Malang Fashion and Food Festival. Malang City’s Mayor, Drs. H. Sutiaji, confirmed the purpose of executing this event to come true is to promote the potential charm of Malang City’s in the tourism sector and food sector.
“Malang City is a tourism city which is really famous for its culinary delights. Through the execution of this event, we can learn how we can mix and find the potential that brings the city’s culinary specialty. So today we are gathered here today, in order of the commemoration of the 51st Krida Agriculture Day, we are working together to present that it turns out that the culture, culinary, and tourism wealth owned by Indonesia, especially the Malang City, is very extraordinary,” Drs. H. Sutiaji explained the deep dive of the Malang Fashion and Food Festival event.
He also said that this kind of event should be conducted regularly and more often to share the awareness of Malang City’s culture, culinary, and tourism wealth to the tourists. The aim of holding this kind of event is to increase the number of tourists coming to Malang City, which can also increase Malang’s community per capita income.

As an affirmation of appreciation for the event participants, the Malang City’s Mayor said, “Hopefully this event will show the uniqueness and innovation that is owned by the citizens of Malang City who are constantly striving. Including currently the dishes made in the competition which not only focus on our nation’s staple food, rice. We also can see the creativity of participants is extraordinary.”
Besides conducting food bazaars on the event, Malang City Government also held some competitions for the participants of the event, such as Non-Wheat Non-Rice Local Food-Based Menu Creation Competition and Table Decoration Arrangement Competition.
