MALIQ & D’Essentials Announce First-Ever Album Tour: “Can Machines Fall In Love?” Across Indonesia and Malaysia

MALIQ & D’Essentials

Bingkai Karya-After a three-month break following their latest album release, MALIQ & D’Essentials are gearing up for their much-anticipated “Can Machines Fall In Love?” (CMFIL?) Album Tour, which will run from October to December 2024 across Indonesia and Malaysia. The tour is proudly supported by PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BCA), a key partner from their 20th Anniversary Concert in 2023.

The tour, organized by Jagjag Studio and Northstar Entertainment, also enjoys the support of Warner Music Indonesia, the label behind MALIQ. The band, which has been around since May 15, 2002, will be showcasing their “CMFIL?” album with a tour theme called “Madness In Every City!”

Sarah Deshita, Co-Founder of Jagjag Studio, expressed her excitement for the upcoming tour: “The tour will revolve around the new album and the developments MALIQ has made over the past year since the 20th Anniversary Concert. Now it’s D’Essentials’ turn to hit various cities, and we invite friends in Jakarta to join us in nearby cities.”

The “CMFIL?” Album Tour is more than just a promotional event for MALIQ & D’Essentials’ latest tracks. It marks a significant milestone for the band as Angga Puradiredja, Indah Wisnuwardhana, Widi Puradiredja, Jawa, Lale, and Ilman Ibrahim stepped on their first-ever tour, meeting new fans and expanding their audience over the past two years.

“This is MALIQ’s first tour in our 22 years of making music. While we’ve frequently visited different regions, this is our first album tour. We’re really excited to offer a special concert experience in multiple cities, with performances extending beyond the usual hour to possibly over two hours, featuring more than 20 songs, special arrangements, and a complete visual and lighting package. This concept hasn’t been showcased in cities we’ve regularly visited,” said Widi Puradiredja, the band’s drummer.

Not Just About Performing

Widi emphasized that the tour will feature live renditions of all the songs from the “CMFIL?” album, along with hits from their previous albums. This approach ensures a dynamic concert experience, catering to fans who might not be familiar with every new track.

Triari Senawirawan, Country Managing Director of Warner Music Indonesia, noted that the “CMFIL?” tour is not just about performing viral hits like “Aduh” and “Kita Bikin Romantis.” It’s an opportunity for MALIQ to engage directly with their fans and celebrate over two decades of success.

“We’re hoping the tour will be a huge success in all the cities we’re visiting. If fans respond well, we’ll definitely consider adding more cities in the future. We’re excited to bring MALIQ & D’Essentials’ music to even more places and let more people across Indonesia enjoy their live performances,” said Triari.
