Bingkai Karya — Following her previous release that captured the warmth of new love, singer-songwriter Marsha Lavinia returns with a more reflective musical offering in her new single, “Berselimut di Batin (Wrapped in the Heart)”. The song is inspired by Marsha’s small observations of everyday life. She explains that the song comes from the awareness that traces of someone can remain even after a relationship ends.
“Sometimes we think that once it’s over, there’s no connection left. But it turns out that a part of them still stays with us,” Marsha shares. “From the way we speak, the places we choose to eat, even the items we use as memories are like an invisible blanket that clings to our hearts,” she adds.
Unlike her previous releases, which were full of optimism and the thrill of falling in love, this song presents a more melancholic and introspective mood. It reflects the process of accepting reality after losing someone, without denying the presence of lingering memories.
“I think this is the most ‘surrendered’ song I’ve ever made. I just wanted to bring a different color, because almost everyone has felt like they’ve moved on but still notice the little things that remind them of someone from the past,” Marsha explains. She believes the song’s message will resonate with many listeners not because they still love, but because certain habits become part of who we are.
Regarding the creative process, Marsha collaborated with Will Mara as Producer and Composer, and Kamga as Vocal Director. According to Marsha, the entire process was warm and fun, filled with laughter and moments of sharing stories. Through “Berselimut di Batin”, Marsha hopes her audience will find a companion while navigating phases of loss or sadness.
“Grieving is so human!” she says. “Moving on doesn’t mean forgetting it’s about learning to accept that they have become part of our past,” she concludes.
