Bingkai Karya-After releasing her debut album “Hanya Figuran” in July, Meiska Adinda released the music video for one of the singles from the album, “Keras Kepala,” on October 9. The music video for “Keras Kepala” explores the concept of two people who know their relationship won’t last but they still hold onto it. “We highlight a phenomenon such as differences in class, religion, or race, and we feel that ‘Keras Kepala’ can represent the feelings of those who experience this,” Meiska shared.
This concept was carefully considered by Meiska and her team at Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia. “The gap between the release of ‘Keras Kepala,’ which is part of the album ‘Hanya Figuran,’ and the production of this music video is quite long, about three months. That’s because we wanted to listen to the responses from netizens. After reading various comments, we felt that the story of differences in religion, race, and social class would be represented by this song.”
Meiska acknowledged that this concept sets her apart from her previous singles. “In this music video, I wanted to connect more with my friends’ experiences and represent what they feel. I hope this can represent the feelings of anyone who has been in such a relationship,” said the Bali-born artist.
An Unforgettable Experience during the Process
The video was filmed over two days in Yogyakarta, chosen for its diverse scenery and culinary offerings. The filming took place at Laguna Glagah and residential areas around Yogyakarta. Meiska is grateful that the video shoot went smoothly, even though she had to balance it with her academic schedule. Meiska shared an unforgettable experience while shooting “Keras Kepala” related to her culinary adventures. On the recommendation of a local resident, Meiska and her team decided to try a well-known noodle dish. However, they ended up waiting for an hour before they could eat. Fortunately, the delicious taste made the wait worthwhile, and she promised to return every time she visits Yogyakarta.
Returning to her music video, Meiska hopes to receive positive feedback from music lovers in Indonesia, especially those who have been following her career journey. “I hope people like this music video and relate to it, inspiring them to share their stories in the comments. Additionally, I hope this MV offers a perspective on interfaith relationships that people may have never considered before,” Meiska concluded.
