Bingkai Karya – Singer and actress Mikha Tambayong returns with her latest musical release through a special collaboration with Rayi Putra on the new single, “Jalan Tengah.” Released under MyMusic Records, the song tells the story of two people deeply in love who are forced to accept a difficult truth: sometimes, love alone is not enough to sustain a relationship.

Written by Rayi Putra, alongside Ankadiov and Wizzy of RAW Music, “Jalan Tengah” offers a refreshing perspective on heartbreak. Rather than focusing on betrayal, explosive arguments, or toxic relationships, the song explores the quiet heartbreak of two people who genuinely try to make their relationship work, only to gradually realize that they are simply too different to stay together.

The song illustrates how seemingly insignificant differences can slowly become impossible to ignore. From simple preferences such as one person enjoying movies while the other prefers reading books to fundamental differences in perspective that make it increasingly difficult to find common ground, these contrasts are reflected in the lyrics:

“From the very first day, our favorites were never the same. You loved the cinema, while you preferred reading.”

Despite these differences, both continue to fight for their relationship, hoping that love will be enough. As time passes, however, they come to understand that forcing the relationship to continue would only cause more pain for both of them.

Through “Jalan Tengah”, Mikha and Rayi hope to convey that not every relationship that ends should be considered a failure. Sometimes, accepting that someone is not the right life partner is the greatest expression of love and respect for the relationship they once shared.

Rayi describes ”Jalan Tengah” as a mature break-up song, one that isn’t driven by anger or overwhelming sadness. Instead, it presents the idea that two people can choose to part ways with maturity, mutual acceptance, and without placing blame on one another.

For Mikha, this collaboration carries a deeply personal meaning. She describes working with Rayi as both a full-circle moment and a dream come true. Back in 2008, when she was just 13 years old and competing in a talent search competition, Mikha first met Rayi, who appeared as a special guest during one of the contestants’ activities. At that moment, she quietly wished that one day she would have the opportunity to perform a duet with him. Years later, that childhood dream has finally become reality through Jalan Tengah.

For this project, Bianca Nelwan served as the vocal director, while Reyner Ferdinand handled the mixing and mastering. The song’s message is also brought to life visually through a music video directed by Moedhalie.

The music video portrays Mikha and Rayi as a couple spending a peaceful day together in a park. Although physically together, they remain immersed in their own worlds, Mikha quietly reading a book while Rayi captures moments around the park with his camcorder.

Filled with hope that their relationship will continue, they dance together through the park in a warm and joyful atmosphere. Their moment is interrupted when a mysterious maze suddenly appears before them. Rayi chooses the path to the left, while Mikha walks to the right. Each continues their journey, believing they will eventually find each other again within the maze.

However, the farther they travel, the more apparent it becomes that they are no longer heading toward the same destination. When they finally reunite in the middle of the maze, they both realize that their relationship can no longer be forced.

Rather than ending with conflict or regret, Rayi and Mikha simply exchange smiles and wave goodbye before continuing on their separate paths. It is a quiet yet powerful ending that perfectly captures the heart of Jalan Tengah: sometimes love does not fail, it simply cannot find a middle ground.

“Jalan Tengah” is available on all major digital streaming platforms and on Mikha Tambayong’s YouTube channel starting July 17, 2026.
