Monica Karina Celebrates Self-Confidence Through Her Latest Dance Floor Anthem, “Pon It”

Bingkai Karya-Two-time AMI award-winning singer, Monica Karina makes a bold comeback with her latest single, “Pon It.” This single is a celebration of maturity and self-confidence, also her first solo song without any collaborators.

“Pon It” was written with Monica’s longtime friends, Greybox (Rizky Argadipraja) and SAILORMONEY (Nadya Syarifa Mirandhany). “Pon It” came out of an organic creative process between the collaborators. They were working on the track at the studio while listening to afro house and afro-pop music that influenced this song’s character.

Based on her own experience of self-discovery and confidence, Monica hopes this song will spread the spirit of self-empowerment. “I definitely want this song to be an anthem for listeners to dance and feel loose – especially for girls to bussdown to!” she mentioned.

Previously, Monica was known for her work with other dance music big names such as Kara Chenoa, Rahmania Astrini, Greybox, and Ezra Kunze. Monica achieved a breakthrough with her collaboration with Dipha Barus and releasing her debut single “Skin to Skin” in 2018. She grabbed 5 AMI Awards nominations and won 2 of them for Best Production Work and Best Electronic Production Work.

Monica is currently putting much of her effort on getting ready for her debut album. While waiting for this release, fans can enjoy a variety of soon-to-be-released works by other musicians featuring Monica.
