Bingkai Karya – On 12 July 2024, Makna Talks held a music competition entitled “SOUNDSEEKER Vol.1.” It aims for newcomer musicians to introduce their work to a wider audience and takes place at House of Makers, Jakarta.
SOUNDSEEKER is more than just a music competition; it’s a celebration of creativity and passion for music. Every band will get a chance to showcase their distinct sounds and musical abilities with a live performance. A wide range of musical styles and acts, including rock, pop, indie, and even hardcore, are promised for the evening.
There were a total of 8 artists who performed at SOUNDSEEKER Vol.1. These artists were carefully curated from among the more than 100 artists that sent us their work. These musicians are: Featuz, Behawan, Voxxes Music, Rimaldi, Prou, Zorrrya, Gabriella Fernaldi, and Understatement—performed at SOUNDSEEKER Vol. 1.
A trio of renowned judges provided insightful feedback on each performance. composed of Pamungkas, Iga Massardi, and Enrico Octaviano, three skilled musicians with extensive experience in the industry. Their valuable feedback will help the participants refine their skills and grow as artists.
As the winner of SOUNDSEEKER Vol. 1, Behawan will have the amazing chance to have his performance broadcast on the Makna Talks YouTube channel. This will provide him a huge platform to get exposure and reach a larger audience.
All the artists involved remarked how excited they were about the event and stressed how important it is for them, because one of their biggest challenges as newcomers is finding a platform to debut their music. In this sense, to help more upcoming musicians find bigger audiences, there will be a follow up event, SOUNDSEEKER Vol.2 by Makna Talks.
