Bingkai Karya – Four-time AMI Awards winner Nadin Amizah officially releases her new single, “Moonlight”, through her independent label Sorai. Available across major digital streaming platforms from August 7, 2026, the standalone release marks a new chapter in Nadin’s artistic evolution while setting the sonic atmosphere for her highly anticipated third studio album, ‘Laika, Yang Ditinggalkan (Laika, The Abandoned)’.
Interestingly, “Moonlight” is not a new composition for Nadin. She wrote the song during high school and occasionally performed it live, including during the early “Sorai” and “Rumpang” eras, long before she officially recorded it. Its eventual release gives the song a new purpose, allowing it to become the musical gateway into the world of Nadin’s upcoming album.
According to Nadin, the song was chosen to introduce Laika’s universe before listeners encounter the album’s central subject. Its sonic architecture is designed to establish the world surrounding Laika, creating a foundation for audiences to better understand the character and everything that follows throughout the record.
“Moonlight” also presents a notable departure from Nadin’s established songwriting identity. Written in English, the track moves away from the dense, poetic, and metaphor-driven Indonesian lyricism that has become synonymous with her work. At the same time, its origins in her high-school songwriting give the release a distinctly nostalgic dimension, reconnecting Nadin with an earlier stage of her creative life.
The upcoming album introduces an equally ambitious production approach. Nadin intentionally worked with 10 different producers, including Lafa Pratomo, Baskara Putra, Enrico Octaviano, Otta Tarega, and Feby Putri, while Dissa Kamajaya serves as the lead producer for “Moonlight.” This collaborative process reflects Nadin’s deliberate vision for the album’s sonic landscape.
The album’s title, ‘Laika, Yang Ditinggalkan’, draws inspiration from Laika, the dog sent into space by the Soviet space program in 1957. Nadin’s fascination with Laika’s story became a deeper reflection on love, belonging, home, and the emotional void within every creature, themes that ultimately shape the album’s central narrative.
With “Moonlight” now available worldwide, Nadin invites listeners to step into the universe of ‘Laika, Yang Ditinggalkan’ before the full album arrives. The release signals her most daring musical evolution yet, while preserving the emotional depth and distinctive artistic voice that have defined her career.
