
PT Pertamina (Persero) through its subsidiary, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, will launch a new RON 95 fuel oil product. The fuel will be mixed with bioethanol or molasses.

On social media, it was revealed that Pertamina’s new BBM is Pertamax Green 95. Pertamina’s VP Corporate Communication Fadjar Djoko Santoso confirmed this.
Meanwhile, Corporate Secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Irto Ginting said that if nothing gets in the way, this newest fuel product will be launched at the end of July 2023. He also explained the stages of the process being passed at this time.
Regarding the price, Irto had not confirmed the official price tag. They will convey the price at launch, which is clearly still competitive with fuel in its class (RON 95), explained Irto.
As a comparison with its competitors, Shell’s RON 95 fuel, namely Shell V-Power, costs IDR 13,400 per liter. Vivo’s fuel output, namely Revvo 95, is now priced at IDR 13,200 per liter. Meanwhile, BP’s fuel output, namely BP Ultimate, sells for IDR 13,400 per liter.
Previously, PT Pertamina Main Director Nicke Widyawati revealed that the issuance of the new fuel was planned for July 2023. In July, they will launch bioethanol gasoline from cassava sugarcane molasses so we will process all of our vegetable raw materials because for Indonesia the most important thing is to achieve self-sufficiency and national energy, she said at the Pertamina Research & Innovation Day event, Thursday (22/6/2023).
The Director General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Dadan Kusdiana, added that the trial will take effect in July 2023. He added that they had carried out a series of studies since 2008 to ensure that mixing between fuel and bioethanol could work.
