PIT HAGI 47th or Pertemuan Ilmiah Tahunan Himpunan Ahli Geofisika (the Annual Scientific Meeting Indonesian Association Geophysicists) was held this year in Harris Hotel & Convention Malang. Seminars and exhibitions filled the event held October 10-13, 2022. The event was conducted under the theme of “The Impact of Sustainable Energy Transition on The Climate, Economies and Societies”.
The aim of the event was to organize scientific events for all geophysicists in Indonesia ranging from more than 5 countries. Many exhibitions from well known companies were shown here, including Pertamina Hulu Energi, SKK Migas, Schlumberger, Harbour Energy, and many more. Not only the company, college students from Universitas Brawijaya, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember Surabaya, Universitas Gadjah Mada, and other universities that have Geophysics or Geophysics Engineering study program also had an exhibition in this 4 days event.
The event consisted of Pre-Event happening in Bali, Malang, and Banyuwangi, and The Main-Event held in Harris Hotel and Convention Malang. There were Forum Group Discussion, Technical Session, Scientific Poster, Exhibition, Presidential Inauguration, and Student Competition in the Main-Event.
The chairman of PIT HAGI 47th, Prof. Dr. Sunaryo, S.Si., M.Si. stated that Malang is among the ideal locations for research and development collaboration to speed up innovation and stream research goods. Mountains, which are surrounded by diverse geography, are a great destination to vacation and unwind because of their scenic scenery and pure air.
Previously, PIT HAGI was conducted online, making the exhibition not as flexible as this year’s event. Therefore, PIT HAGI 2022 was so anticipated by the geophysicists.
