The government exempts export levy tax on crude palm oil (CPO). The tax is 0%, starting from July 15, 2022 to August 31, 2022. The exemption is applied to all products, including palm fruit, palm oil, CPO, and use cooking oil. The policy is decided as a response to the condition of the local palm fruit industry. (Provigil)
The regulation is written in Peraturan Menteri Keuangan (PMK) Nomor 115/PMK.05/2022 about Perubahan atas Peraturan Menteri Keuangan Nomor 103/PMK.05/2022 about Service Fees for Public Service Agencies for Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management at the Ministry of Finance.
Sri Mulyani stated that the tax is applied progressively and not permanently. “If the case is a low CPO price, then the tax will be so low. Meanwhile, if the price is high, (the tax) will increase. The aim is we, through BPDPKS, can get income for them to stabilize the price, which are biodiesel price and cooking oil price.”
