Bingkai Karya–Stereowall, an alternative rock band that has been active since 2012 just released a new EP titled “terjebak imajinasi.” This EP marks a new chapter of Stereowall in their 12 years of career. Showing colors, unlike the previous Stereowall songs written by Rama (guitarist), in this EP, Tita (vocalist) and Mamed (bassist) also participated in the songwriting process.
The first and second songs written by Tita. “terjebak imajinasi” and ” sabotase jiwa” were inspired by her anxiety and personal life. The song develops into a tune that leans toward melancholy more than any of Stereowall’s earlier releases.
This transformation is considered to be the growth and maturation of Stereowall. While the third song written by Mamed titled “e.m.o. (emotionally motivated outcast)” is the binder of this EP. The lyrics of the song e.m.o. are mostly taken from pieces of emo songs in the 2000s. With the intention of making it more “easy listening” for people even though the lyrics are in English.
As a significant turning point in their career, Stereowall is aware that the style changes they have made for this EP will receive both positive and negative responses. As a transformation, some people may appreciate or despise the new colors of Stereowall.
