Bingkai Karya – Jakarta based pop folk duo Suara Kayu are back with their brand new single, “Cerita Kesukaan”, officially released today and now available on all digital streaming platforms. The song captures the spark of love at first sight, that magical feeling of meeting someone who feels instantly familiar wrapped in Suara Kayu’s signature lighthearted storytelling.
According to members Ingrid Tamara (vocals, ukulele) and Audree Dewangga (guitar), “Cerita Kesukaan” is a playful take on that first moment of falling in love. “This song can be a little code for your crush,” Ingrid shared. “Just like the lyric, ‘bolehkah ku tahu namamu, asal usul indah matamu, surgakah alamat indahmu’.”
The track was written by Ingrid Tamara, Audree Dewangga, David Elsandro, and Recky Risanto, with Petra Sihombing joining as both composer and producer. The creative process happened spontaneously while the duo was in a workshop session in Bali. “It all came together in just half an hour,” Audree explained. “Petra helped shape the song’s warm and catchy vibe, and Bianca Dimas added her touch during the recording, which really captured the song’s mood.”
A Wholesome Teenage Love Story in the Music Video
Released on the same day, the official music video for “Cerita Kesukaan” brings the song’s youthful spirit to life. Set in a high school backdrop, it portrays a sweet teenage romance, the kind filled with love bombing and innocent intensity, where love feels like the center of the universe.
“Cerita Kesukaan” marks a new chapter in Suara Kayu’s musical journey as they gear up for more upcoming releases. “We’ve got several singles lined up this year, some mellow, some cheerful,” the duo revealed. “We’re also collaborating with a few well known producers, so we’re really excited for what’s next.”
About Suara Kayu
Formed in May 2020, Suara Kayu consists of Ingrid Tamara (ukulele, vocals) and Audree Dewangga (guitar). Starting from YouTube collaborations and songwriting sessions, they rose to prominence with their debut single “Miniatur”, which topped Spotify’s Top 50 Viral chart and has surpassed 11 million streams.
They later joined Warner Music Indonesia in October 2020 and have since released multiple successful singles including “Kaktus”, “Drama Korea”, “Penghapus Pensil”, and “UwU (Unhappy Without You)”. Their debut EP “Kumpulan Cerita Pendek” (2022) received warm listener responses, followed by “Perjalanan Mimpi” (2023) featuring hit single “Kembali Pulang” with Feby Putri, and “Banyak Canda Tapi Serius” (2024).
To date, “Kembali Pulang” has been streamed over 392 million times on Spotify and its music video has reached 29 million views on YouTube, staying on the Top 50 Spotify Indonesia chart for more than two years.
