Originally popularized by Titiek Puspa, “Hidupku Untuk Cinta” is widely known for its universal message of pure love, unbound by wealth or luxury. In this latest rendition, Inul adds her signature emotional touch with soulful vocals, complemented by arrangements blending classic pop melodies, melancholic tones, and contemporary dangdut elements.

When asked about her feelings releasing “Hidupku Untuk Cinta” as a tribute for Titiek Puspa’s 88th birthday, Inul shared:
“About two months ago, I received an offer from Ibu Acin to perform Eyang’s song for her 88th birthday. I saw it as a golden opportunity, one that couldn’t be repeated. Perhaps if Eyang were still alive, I might have had this chance directly. Now, this is my way of honoring her a moment that truly shouldn’t be wasted!”
Regarding her message through this release, Inul added:
“I hope this beautiful song, with its fresh interpretation and new musical color, reminds everyone that this is Eyang Titiek’s work, deserving to be enjoyed. If Eyang were still here, she would surely be very happy that I could perform it.”
Recording Process and Challenges
Inul explained that the recording process was fairly quick:
“When I received the news, I immediately worked on it without delay. This golden opportunity had to be done on time. The vocal takes took a whole day, with few repetitions, and the music production was also quick. Any revisions were done immediately, followed by mixing, and it was completed.”
She added about the emotional challenge:
“The hardest part for me was holding back tears. When singing, you’re supposed to be joyful, so I tried to momentarily set aside thoughts of Eyang. The song is deeply moving, and if you immerse yourself in it, it becomes quite sad.”

The single project also received direct approval from Titiek Puspa’s family and heirs, Ibu Petty Tunjung Sari and Ibu Ella Puspa Sari, who warmly welcomed this new version. The intergenerational project aims to introduce this Indonesian classic to younger listeners while preserving its original essence and meaning. The release coincides with Titiek Puspa’s 88th birthday on November 1.
About “Goyang 88,” Inul explained:
“Eyang Titiek once told me, ‘When I’m 88, I want to do something special, Nul!’ So 88 here refers to her age on November 1. In conjunction with this moment, I want to gift ‘Goyang 88’ as a special present for everyone, especially Eyang Titiek. Stay tuned — we’ll dance together again!”

Inul expressed her aspirations:
