The Killers Wants Us to Not Overthink in “boy”

The Killers returned with their new single “boy” after releasing their 7th album “Pressure Machine” last year. “boy” was released on August 5 and this release was accompanied by the performance of their stadium and arena tour starting in Vancouver at Rogers Arena on August 19.

Written by the band’s leader Brandon Flowers, “boy” made The Killers return to their anthemic, arena-filling style. The band performed the song for the 1st time at Madrid’s Mad Cool Festival last month. “boy” was written earlier than the “Pressure Machine” album.

“This was the first song written after we had to cancel the ‘“Imploding The Mirage” tour due to the pandemic. I had recently moved back to Utah and started to make trips to Nephi, where I grew up. I found that the place I had wanted to get away from so desperately at 16 was now a place that I couldn’t stop returning to. I have a son approaching the age I was at that time in my life. With “boy”, I want to reach out and tell myself – and my sons –  to not overthink it. And to look for the “white arrows” in their lives. For me now, white arrows are my wife, children, my songs and the stage,” said Brandon Flowers about the message in “boy”.
Produced by The Killers, Stuart Price and Shawn Everett, “boy” is already out on all digital music platforms and the music video was uploaded in TheKillersMusic Youtube Channel.
