Bingkai Karya – Global South Korean singer-songwriter, SHAUN, who has amassed over 19 billion cumulative streams worldwide and currently records 2.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify, has released his latest pre-release single, “Diary”. “Diary” marks the third pre-release single ahead of SHAUN’s upcoming EP, following the releases of “Pixels” and “Night Walk”. Continuing the narrative thread of this project, the song captures a quiet reflection on time and emotion, documenting the past and the present like entries in a personal journal.
Built around a guitar-driven band sound, “Diary” highlights a simple and open arrangement, focusing on melody and sonic flow, paired with calm and introspective lyrics. Phrases like ‘old paper and clumsy handwriting’ symbolically reflect the traces of time that have passed, presenting the past from a peaceful present-day perspective rather than being trapped in nostalgia. Like all his previous works, SHAUN personally led the writing, composition, and production process to preserve his distinctive musical identity.
The upcoming music video further expands the emotional landscape of “Diary” through a visual narrative that weaves together childhood memories of a fictional group called ‘The Time Machine Club’ with the present day. The story serves as a metaphor for time that cannot be turned back and for bonds that endure even as the years pass. Its cinematic texture and analog-style visuals deepen the song’s sense of nostalgia and reflection.
SHAUN first gained global recognition through his 2018 EP ‘Take’, particularly with his breakthrough hit “Way Back Home”, which helped him build a strong international fanbase. Since then, he has continued his musical journey with releases, such as “Hello”, “36.5”, and the Omnibus series. More recently, SHAUN has been actively connecting with fans through Naver’s streaming platform, CHZZK, where he shares both his music and glimpses of his daily life. Last December, he also held an online solo concert featuring 19 original songs performed live, drawing a peak concurrent audience of around 15,000 viewers.
Beginning with the release of “Diary”, SHAUN will continue unveiling this project, with the full EP scheduled for release in April 2026.
