Bingkai Karya – On her birthday, Beyoncé celebrates two decades of ‘B’DAY’ with the release of its newly remastered 20th Anniversary Edition, revisiting the landmark album with enhanced visuals, previously unheard recordings, remixes, and Spanish-language tracks. Originally released on September 4, 2006, the album marked a defining moment in Beyoncé’s artistic evolution as a vocalist, songwriter, producer, and visual artist.
Recorded during an intense two-week creative session, ‘B’DAY’ introduced a more confident and uncompromising side of Beyoncé. She took greater control over the creative process, pushing herself and her collaborators to develop a sound that combined the energy of hip-hop with the melodic foundations of R&B. Her original vision called for music that felt large, percussive, fast, and energetic while retaining the live instrumentation and vocal arrangements at the heart of her sound.
The anniversary edition also revisits ‘B’DAY’ as a landmark in Beyoncé’s visual storytelling. Originally conceived with short films exploring the different stages of a relationship, the project brought together themes of confidence, freedom, courage, and self-discovery. For the new release, the album’s music videos have been remastered, recolored, and completed in 4K, including the Sophie Muller-directed “Déjà Vu,” featuring JAY-Z. Previously unseen images captured in New Orleans are also included, connecting the project to a city deeply rooted in Beyoncé’s family history.
Among the edition’s new highlights is “MORNING DEW (DONK),” which first emerged as part of the anniversary campaign before receiving a remix featuring JAY-Z. The release further expands Beyoncé’s relationship with Latin music through “Cuerpo Tumbao (Get Me Bodied) feat. Maluma,” her first collaboration with Colombian artist Maluma, incorporating a sample of Celia Cruz’s “La Negra Tiene Tumbao.” The collection also features “Irreemplazable (Como La Flor) featuring Selena,” a meaningful collaboration made possible with the approval of Selena Quintanilla’s estate.
The Deluxe Vinyl edition expands the collection across four 180G Bayou Blue vinyl LPs, accompanied by a 60-page commemorative booklet and collectible art prints. It includes previously unreleased material such as “Can I Watch You,” produced by Beyoncé and Pharrell, alongside “My First Time,” “Lost Yo Mind,” “Creole,” and “Back Up.”
‘B’DAY’ 20th Anniversary Edition is now available in standard and deluxe formats across vinyl, CD, and digital, with the Digital Deluxe edition featuring 31 tracks. Fans can revisit the album’s original era while discovering new material that extends its musical and visual legacy.
