Virzha, who is also active as the vocalist for Dewa 19, attracted audiences with his latest work entitled “Kupu-Kupu Malam” on November 18, 2022. “Kupu-Kupu Malam” was written and sung by the legendary singer, Titiek Puspa, in 1977.
Under MD Musik Indonesia and Alfa Records, Virzha returned the song for a soundtrack for the series “Kupu Malam” by MD Entertainment which will air on WeTV Indonesia and iFlix. Unlike the previous version, “Kupu-Kupu Malam” came with a thick ballad feel and it was more meaningful due to Virzha’s powerful vocal character in expressing the implied message of this song.
This song tells the story about a woman who works as a prostitute, a job that is often underestimated by many people. If you look closely, they are actually people who try hard to get a decent living. They must keep smiling despite the consequences and their wounded hearts.
On the other hand, the series “Kupu Malam”, a drama directed by Anggy Umbara, tells a story about a student named Laura (Michelle Ziudith) who has a side profession as a prostitute. Laura was abandoned by her parents so she became a prostitute to collect money and support her younger sibling. “Kupu Malam” will air on November 25, 2022, on WeTV Indonesia and iFlix.
