Bingkai KaryaGood Morning Everyone (GME) officially releases its latest EP, ‘Kalah’, featuring Fiersa Besari across all four tracks. Available on all digital music platforms, the project brings together GME’s alternative pop character and Fiersa’s distinctive sensitivity in storytelling to explore the difficult process of accepting when a relationship can no longer continue in the same direction.

Released as a four-track project, ‘Kalah’ consists of ‘Salah’, ‘Ia’, ‘Salah (Acoustic Version)’, and ‘Ia (Acoustic Version)’. Rather than framing separation simply through blame, the EP examines the different emotions that emerge when two people realize that staying together is no longer the right path.

The EP opens this perspective through ‘Salah’, which tells the story of someone who is repeatedly made to feel wrong in the eyes of their partner. Meanwhile, ‘Ia’ offers another side of separation, focusing on the realization that a relationship does not always end because one person is entirely at fault. Sometimes, two people simply begin moving toward different destinations.

“’Ia’ is about accepting that not everything has to be forced to survive. There are relationships that eventually need to be let go, not because the love is gone, but because we realize that we are heading in different directions,” GME explains.

The two acoustic versions give the EP another dimension by stripping the arrangements back and allowing the lyrics and emotional core to take greater focus. With fewer musical elements surrounding the songs, the acoustic interpretations create a more intimate listening experience, as though the stories are being delivered directly to the listener.

“We feel that the stories in this EP become stronger when presented simply, like listening to someone tell a story directly without too many ornaments,” GME continues.

Through its collaboration with Fiersa Besari, GME brings together lyrics rooted in everyday experiences with Fiersa’s emotionally resonant approach to storytelling. Together, the four tracks capture the stages of losing, being wrong, accepting, and finally letting go, a personal experience that can also feel familiar to many listeners.

For GME, ‘Kalah’ continues the journey of the Semarang-based alternative pop group, comprising Sani (vocals), Daniel (guitar), Erwin (keyboard), Dani (bass), and Yuli (guitar). The group was nominated at the 2016 AMI Awards for ‘Move On’ and performed as a guest star at Zandari Festival in South Korea in 2023.
