Ziva Magnolya released her latest single titled “Menanti” which is the continuation of A+Z The Series project. The first single of A+Z The Series was released on July 28th, and the single is the first chapter of the whole series project.
“Menanti” was a hit song sung by Dea Mirella and Kahitna. Now, the song is being re-recorded by Ziva Magnolya for the Yovie & His Friends series project under Universal Music Indonesia. The newly remade version of “Menanti” will bring the brighter and fresher side of the music melody, harmony, new nuance, and Ziva’s distinct vocal character.
The original “Menanti” sung by Dea Mirella and Kahitna was released more than 2 decades ago. But, even after more than 20 years has passed, “Menanti” still holds so many relevant meanings and interpretations to the listeners. “Menanti” tells a story about an endless wait for your significant other. It’s a story about a promise that can’t be kept up, and ends with the endless waiting.
“The point is always making promises for each other won’t guarantee you to not have the same ending as the others. After several times we’ve been waiting, it turns out that we’ve been ghosted,” Ziva explained the meaning and the story behind the single briefly.
Even though “Menanti” is already a big hit, Ziva admitted that re-recording her version of “Menanti” is a big challenge to face. The young talented musician stated that it was hard to fill the whole single with her distinct vocal character rather than Dea Mirella’s and Kahitna’s iconic vocal in the old version of “Menanti”.
Finally, after going through some difficulties in matching her vocals with the song, Ziva succeeded to release the single with various harmonization of various instruments without depriving the original the iconic music pattern of the original “Menanti”.
The single is also completed by its official music video. The music video of “Menanti” was filmed in South Korea, to match up the whole A+Z The Series scene. “Menanti” official music video is already out on Yovie Widianto YouTube channel.
