Fertikal released a debut album entitled “Gama”. “Gama” was independently crafted in Rama’s studio, named Rama Project Studio, where Yudha and Benny also contribute their talents. “Gama” is derived from Sanskrit language. The album comprises 10 tracks that delve into the intricate journey of personal growth and adulthood.
Formed on November 25, 2022, Fertikal is a trio consisting of Dharma Yudha on vocals, Rama Satria on guitar, and Benny K. Wijaya on bass. The band’s inception stems from their shared background as audio entrepreneurs, bringing their passion for music and expertise to their creative journey.
Fertikal burst onto the public scene on November 26, 2022, with their Instagram post under the username @fertikalband. Showcasing a fusion of alternative rock and power pop influences, Fertikal offers a distinctive blend of rock arrangements infused with catchy pop elements. Their lyrics, cleverly woven with Indonesian everyday dialect, strike a balance between relatability and digestibility.

The band’s name, Fertikal, holds many significance. Stemming from a playful suggestion by their friends, the intentional use of “F” in Fertikal serves as a creative twist to avoid misinterpretations as “Vertical.” Guitarist Rama explains, “We thought it would be better to embrace the ‘Fertikal with F’ tag rather than risking the mispronunciation.
The name Fertikal also carries a deeper philosophical meaning. Vocalist Yudha elaborates, “The meaning of Fertikal aligns with the concept of ‘Vertical,’ symbolizing a straight path from the bottom to the top, reflecting our collective aspirations for continual growth and progress.”
