Bingkai Karya – GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum global pop sensation Tate McRae has released her new single, “Housewife,” alongside its official music video via RCA Records. The pop anthem explores the tension between love, fame, and independence, telling the story of a woman who refuses to be confined by expectations.
Directed by Pierre-Ange Carlotti, the cinematic and playful music video was filmed in the south of France. The visual features choreography by Sergio Reis, whose previous work includes projects with Madonna, Miley Cyrus, Troye Sivan, and Charli XCX.
As the video unfolds, its glamorous atmosphere gradually gives way to quiet pain, revealing a bittersweet truth, the pursuit of absolute freedom can sometimes come at the expense of true love. This contrast between outward glamour and underlying vulnerability reinforces the song’s central themes, presenting independence not simply as liberation but also as a choice with emotional consequences.
“Housewife” marks McRae’s first musical release following her critically acclaimed, No. 1 album, So Close To What. The new single arrives as the artist continues to expand her presence across music and popular culture. This week, McRae is also scheduled to perform at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Los Angeles.
