Bingkai Karya – Singaporean pop artist Estelle Fly returns with “Shut It Down,” a playful new club-pop single that encourages listeners to stop overthinking, embrace the moment, and make the dance floor their own. Inspired by the Rihanna and Kesha songs she grew up listening to while getting ready for a night out, the release captures the excitement of letting loose with friends, even when life feels complicated.

“Shut It Down” revolves around a familiar experience, spending too much time waiting for a message, checking a phone, or worrying about what comes next. Rather than letting those thoughts take over, the song offers a different perspective. Sometimes, the best thing to do is get dressed, go out, and enjoy the night. As Estelle puts it, “Your problems will still be there tomorrow, but you deserve to enjoy yourself tonight.”

For Estelle, the single draws on the club music that shaped her own relationship with singing and dancing. The influence of Rihanna and Kesha, whose songs once provided the soundtrack to her nights out, remains part of her musical inspiration. With this release, she brings that familiar excitement into her own sound while allowing more room for spontaneity and personality.

“I’ve always loved singing and dancing, so making a song like this feels very natural to me,” says Estelle. “I love the club songs from Rihanna and Kesha that we used to get ready and go out to, and I still listen to them now. I wanted to make something that gives me that same excitement, and let myself have a bit more fun with my music.”

That approach carries into a chorus designed for listeners to sing along to, paired with an attitude Estelle describes as playful and a little bratty. The track brings together club-pop nostalgia, dance-floor energy, and an expressive side of the artist that feels less concerned with holding back.

“I wanted that feeling where you might be quite shy normally, but once this song comes on, suddenly the world disappears and the dance floor is yours,” she says. When asked what she hopes listeners will feel after hearing the track, Estelle offers a characteristically playful answer: “Honestly, a little hotter than they did three minutes ago.”

Beyond its upbeat sound, “Shut It Down” carries a simple reminder that enjoying life does not have to wait until everything is figured out. “We spend so much time trying to have everything together. Sometimes you need to sing too loudly, dance with your friends and remember that you’re allowed to have fun even when life is complicated,” Estelle says.

“Shut It Down” follows Estelle Fly’s July 2026 single “Bury it” and is available to stream now. Having previously performed as an idol before establishing herself as an independent solo artist, Estelle released her EP ZONE and performed at Waterbomb Singapore in 2025. In 2026, she was selected as a Spotify RADAR artist.
