Bingkai Karya — GRAMMY Award-winning artist Anderson .Paak and GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum rapper Cordae reunite with “A Good Day,” the first single from their forthcoming collaborative album, ‘Heavy Is the Crown,’ due October 23 via APESHIT + EMPIRE / Hi Level + Mass Appeal. Blending live instrumentation, soulful textures, and sharp lyricism, the track introduces the next chapter of their creative partnership with an uplifting and playful energy.

Built around effortless lyrical interplay and a healthy dose of humour, “A Good Day” brings Anderson .Paak back to his charismatic rap roots while Cordae delivers his signature smooth flow. The pair trade witty bars over live drum grooves and infectious production, creating a feel-good anthem that carries a nostalgic yet contemporary character.

The single draws inspiration from familiar musical touchstones, including echoes of Bill Withers’ “Lovely Day,” originally released in 1977, while incorporating the unmistakable energy of Fatman Scoop’s legendary ad-libs. The combination gives the track a warm, optimistic atmosphere with a sound that moves naturally from summer into fall.

The accompanying official music video, starring Jennifer Freeman, extends the song’s playful nostalgia through a visual homage to the cult classic film ‘Friday.’ Anderson .Paak and Cordae portray a competitive pair of brothers going head-to-head over a love interest, while maintaining the camaraderie that has remained central to their musical partnership.

The new single also builds on the duo’s established collaborative history. Their previous releases include “RNP,” which has surpassed 260 million Spotify streams, and “Two Tens,” which has surpassed 75 million Spotify streams. Across these collaborations, .Paak’s raspy vocals, live musicianship, and infectious hooks complement Cordae’s thoughtful lyricism and storytelling, creating a distinctive musical chemistry.

With ‘Heavy Is the Crown’ arriving October 23, the duo are also preparing an extensive physical release featuring six retailer-exclusive vinyl variants, an animated zoetrope edition, cassette, and CD editions. The CD release will feature a lenticular cover depicting .Paak and Cordae in the middle of a playful fight.
