Bingkai Karya – After much anticipation from fans, the Semarang-based music group Good Morning Everyone (GME) has finally released their full-length album titled “Bapak”. This new album is available on various digital streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and more.
With new Album “Bapak”, GME introduces a fresh musical atmosphere, reflecting deeper musical exploration and an emotionally meaningful journey. The reason behind choosing “Bapak” as the album title is that a father (Bapak) represents the pillar of family harmony. By embracing themes of family and the role of a father as the head of the household, GME invites listeners to embark on an emotional and colorful journey.
“This album is a reflection of our personal experiences over the past few years,” said lead vocalist Sani. Although the album revolves around the theme of family, the songs are not exclusively for adults. “We hope that anyone navigating family life or preparing for adulthood can relate to the songs in “Bapak”,” added Yuli, GME’s guitarist.
A Meaningful Album with Special Collaborations
The “Bapak” album consists of 14 tracks, with most of the songs written by Yuli and the cover artwork designed by Sani. While some tracks have been previously released as singles, the album still holds many surprises, including collaborations with several musicians. One of the standout collaborations features Sheila On 7’s guitarist, Eross Candra, who lends his guitar skills on GME’s song “Tertulis di Sana”.
This collaboration is a special treat for fans, especially since GME previously opened for Sheila On 7’s tour in several cities. In addition to Eross Candra, the album also features vocal contributions from Uan Kaisar (of Juicy Luicy) on the song “Istimewa”, and Fanny Soegi on “Sunny”.
What makes “Bapak” even more unique is that the tracklist includes not only songs but also several narrative tracks.
There are three narrative tracks in the album, two written by Yoppy Al Ghifary (author of The Fundamental of Taaruf) and one by Choirul Trian (author of “Ayah Ini Arahnya ke Mana”). Yoppy Al Ghifary wrote Pesan Bapak and Pesan Ibu, while Choirul Trian contributed Pesan Kakak. Yuli explained that the songs in Bapak carry profound messages about life, hoping that listeners will interpret the lyrics deeply.
Listeners are free to find their own meaning behind the lyrics, but Yuli has intentionally embedded certain messages within them. For example, the song “Tak Ada Yang SepertiMu” explores the vertical relationship between humans and their Creator. Because of its strong spiritual essence, the song serves as the album’s opening track, following the intro.
This track symbolizes that the first and foremost relationship is with the Creator, followed by relationships with fellow humans. “It’s not just about horizontal relationships but also vertical ones. So, after talking about love and devotion to the Creator, we then explore relationships with others,” Yuli explained.
A Soundtrack for Life’s Journey
GME hopes that the songs in Album “Bapak” will accompany listeners in their daily lives and convey meaningful messages that resonate with everyone.
