Bingkai Karya – We’re never short of songs about love. Love, in its dynamics, has always been a source of human inspiration. Even though millions of songs have been created, there’s always a fresh perspective, a unique way of telling the story, that keeps them relevant and needed. When someone we secretly love and hope for one day announces that they’ve chosen someone else, or gone back to their ex, once again, not us, and then casually ask, “How are you?”, our world has just collapsed because of that announcement. Yet all we can do is swallow hard and say, “I’m good.”, even though we’re not. We’re far from okay.
That situation and those feelings are familiar to many. When we experience love, we inevitably come to know heartbreak, and what it feels like to keep everything bottled up. That’s the story behind “Kabarku”, the third single by Dee Lestari, following “(Jangan) Jatuh Cinta” (Dec 2025) and “Perahu Kertas” (Feb 2026). Delivered through a beautiful melody and expressed in Dee Lestari’s signature poetic yet straightforward lyrics, “Kabarku” becomes both memorable and deeply relatable. This time, Dee collaborates with Fellow Amateurs, a group of four young producers: Mikha Angelo, Josua Gian, Geddi Jaddi Membemmi, and Nathania S. Alexandra.
This isn’t Dee Lestari first collaboration with Mikha Angelo. Previously, Dee teamed up with him on “Before You”, a track from the Rapijali book soundtrack. Dee and Fellow Amateurs also worked together on “Satu Langkah”, performed by Maudy Ayunda on her latest album ‘Pada Suatu Hari’. For “Kabarku”, Mikha Angelo and Fellow Amateurs bring a soulful, modern arrangement that wraps the song into a cohesive, deeply moving story. The song’s emotional depth is further enhanced by its visually stunning lyric video, directed by Anthono Congor and Arie Dagienkz.
“Kabarku” stands as another testament to Dee Lestari’s consistency in creating high-quality music, as well as her commitment to returning to the music scene after a long hiatus from releasing solo work. The song is available on all streaming platforms alongside its lyric video, and it will be part of Dee Lestari’s upcoming solo album, planned for release in mid-2026.
