Bingkai Karya – Sisca Saras joins forces with legendary guitarist and composer Tohpati to present a fresh interpretation of “Gemintang,” the iconic song originally popularized by Andien in 2005. The collaboration marks a meaningful milestone for Sisca, who had long considered working with Tohpati one of her personal musical wishlists.
The collaboration began as part of Tohpati’s project to revisit and re-release some of his notable compositions. When selecting a vocalist for “Gemintang,” Tohpati chose Sisca because he felt her distinctive vocal character was a natural fit for the song. He also described the recording process as smooth, with Sisca quickly finding the right approach to the material.
Originally known for its cool and soulful character, the new version takes “Gemintang” in a different direction. Through Sisca’s vocal interpretation and Tohpati’s arrangement, the song now features a faster tempo, fresh bossa nova nuances, and playful jazz elements. The result offers a brighter and more energetic interpretation while giving the familiar composition a distinctly new personality.
