Bingkai Karya – Accor Hotels Group in Malang Raya, which consists of Grand Mercure Malang Mirama and ibis Styles Malang, has collaborated with BumiBaik to adopt 100 trees in Desa Sumberejo, Kota Batu. This program is part of the hotel group’s commitment to environmental sustainability and to support the fight against climate change.
The tree adoption program was launched in October 2023 and raised Rp 5,000,000 in three months. The funds were used to purchase 100 tree seedlings, which were planted in Desa Sumberejo on February 17, 2024.
The tree planting ceremony was attended by representatives from Accor Hotels Group, BumiBaik, and the local community. The event began with a welcome speech from the head of the local farmers’ group, followed by a symbolic signing of the collaboration agreement between Accor Hotels Group and BumiBaik.
“This program is the first collaboration between Grand Mercure Malang Mirama and ibis Styles Malang in the area of environmental sustainability,” said Sugito Adhi, General Manager of Grand Mercure Malang Mirama. “We hope that this initiative will contribute to the preservation of the environment and help to mitigate the effects of climate change.”
Ina Rianawati, General Manager of ibis Styles Malang, added that Accor Hotels Group is committed to environmental sustainability and plans to implement more programs in the future.
“We are looking forward to collaborating with BumiBaik and other organizations on future environmental initiatives,” said Ina Rianawati. “We believe that it is important for businesses to take responsibility for their environmental impact and to work together to create a more sustainable future.”
The tree adoption program is a positive step towards environmental sustainability in Malang Raya. The trees will help to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, improve air quality, and provide a habitat for wildlife.
