Bingkai Karya – In early 2024, Ade Govinda chose Sammy Simorangkir as his duet partner for the song “Selagi Punya Waktu” (While We Have Time). This song tells a story and serves as a reminder that “usually a person will feel sad, disappointed, and lost when they have truly lost that love.” – Ade Govinda, the song’s creator.
Ade added the message that “while we have time, use it well with your partner, because love is not just words, it needs real action!”
Ade explained that he chose Sammy as his duet partner because during the Covid-19 pandemic, they met to perform at a live event on one of the platforms. They performed Ade’s song “Terpukau” which received an extraordinary response and went viral on all social media platforms. Since then, there have been many comments, both on Ade Govinda and Sammy Simorangkir’s social media, asking them to collaborate. Finally, in early 2024, it was realized as an answer to those comments.
Sammy also added that working with Ade Govinda was a dream and a challenge for him, because he never thought he would sing a song that was slightly outside of his music genre! Sammy felt “clicked” when he first heard “Selagi Punya Waktu”. In this song, Sammy sings differently than usual, but he was still able to keep up and beautify the luxurious song, while still maintaining the character of Sammy Simorangkir. Sammy was very happy and proud to be able to work with Ade Govinda, and he hopes that this song can bring blessings to many people and become a real life story.
This collaboration will be a highly anticipated one for music lovers in Indonesia, considering that Ade Govinda is a musician who has created many “HITS” songs both for his band and other singers. And Sammy Simorangkir, a male soloist who has long made many “HITS” singles that have been circulating in the Indonesian music industry, with his distinctive vocal character.
This collaboration is also not only a collaboration between Ade Govinda and Sammy Simorangkir, but also serves as an opening for cooperation between 2 (two) labels, namely MyMusic Records, the music label where Ade Govinda is under, and PRO-M, the music label of Sammy Simorangkir.
