Bingkai Karya – Difki Khalif and Prinsa Mandagie collaborate on a special project to revive the popular 2000s hit, “Seandainya.” This collaboration serves as a space for musical exploration for both artists, while also presenting a fresh interpretation of a song that has long lived in the memories of many listeners.
The project was made possible through a cross-label collaboration between Musica Studios and Sony Music, creating opportunities for artists to reinterpret well-known works. From several song options, Prinsa chose “Seandainya,” originally performed by the 2000s band Vierratale (formerly known as Vierra).
“Many people grew up with this song, including me,” Prinsa shared. The track became one of the iconic heartbreak anthems that colored the teenage years of the 2000s generation.
Collaborating with Difki Khalif, who has a background as a band musician, became an essential element in the creative process. As two soloists with distinct vocal characteristics, they participated in workshops to build chemistry and determine the most harmonious division of vocal parts.
“We have different vocal ranges, so the workshop helped us decide who would sing which parts to keep everything harmonious,” Difki explained.
Despite coming from different musical backgrounds, the two discovered a new energy within this project. The arrangement of “Seandainya” was crafted to be more emotional and refreshing, enhanced with orchestral elements that strengthen the pop-rock character they aimed to present.
For Prinsa, this experience felt different from her usual works, which tend to carry a more mature and sentimental tone. “The challenge was not only to re-sing the song, but to make it feel fresh, still familiar, yet infused with our own color,” she said.
This collaboration also became a learning space for both artists. Prinsa explored another side of her vocal range, while Difki adapted to the dynamics of performing as a duet, an entirely new experience for him. The vocal harmonization process was arranged by Barsena Bestandhi, ensuring that their two distinct vocal colors blended seamlessly.
The creative process was not always easy. They experimented with various vocal arrangements, adjusting to each other’s range and character until they found the right balance. Their differences ultimately became the strength that makes this version feel fresh and unique.
The most memorable moment occurred during the final preview session. When the full arrangement, including the orchestral elements, was played in its entirety, they felt the song had found its new form: emotional, energetic, yet still preserving the essence of the original. As Prinsa expressed, “This may be a different version, but it still feels familiar.”
“Seandainya” by Difki Khalif and Prinsa Mandagie is available on all digital music platforms starting February 18, 2026.
