
Bingkai Karya-Since her debut in 2003, J-pop star Ai Otsuka have created numerous hit songs including “Sakuranbo” and “Planetarium.” In addition to her career as a singer-songwriter, Otsuka has developed herself as a multi-talented artist who not only creates music but also picture books, illustrations and stories. Now, from July 18 to 29, Tokyo’s Spiral Garden venue will host Otsuka’s first-ever solo art exhibition, “AI OTSUKA 20th ANNIVERSARY ART EXHIBITION AIO ART.”
The “AIO ART” exhibition booklet features a selection of Otsuka’s oil paintings inspired by her own songs. As well as a CD of her first ever mini-album of piano instrumentals, “graine.” The limited-edition set will only be available for purchase at the exhibition and on the mu-mo shop online store.
The songs on “graine” were inspired by Otsuka’s passion for the piano, which has been her songwriting partner throughout her career. Their melodies evoke a universe that is exclusively her own. The tracks will also be available on streaming sites starting on July 17.
More About Ai Otsuka
Born September 1982, in Osaka Prefecture, J-pop star Ai Otsuka began writing lyrics and music at age 15. She made her major-label debut on September 10, 2003 with the single “Momo no Hanabira.” This was followed by her second single, “Sakuranbo” which was a massive hit. In addition to her career as a singer-songwriter, this multi talented star is also an active illustrator, picture book author, music writer, and more recently an oil painter. In July, she will hold her first solo art exhibition. It serves as part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of her debut.
