Bingkai Karya – Award-winning singer-songwriter Aziz Hedra returns with his latest single, “Backseat,” a deeply personal song that explores growing up, adapting to change, and finding the courage to believe in childhood dreams again. Following the success of his debut single “Somebody’s Pleasure,” which topped music charts in 13 countries, and the release of his EP Lesson Learned, Aziz brings a more intimate chapter of his journey to listeners through his newest release.
Born from Aziz’s personal journal entries, “Backseat” reflects a period of spiritual and emotional growth shaped by his experience of living away from home and navigating life in the music industry. As he adapted to new circumstances, Aziz found himself questioning the principles and goals that had guided him at the beginning of his career. The song became a personal reminder to remain open to growth without losing sight of his fundamental beliefs.
Musically, “Backseat” takes an introspective approach, creating a warm and reflective atmosphere from the very beginning. The introduction features ambient sounds of children, intentionally designed to invite listeners into a space connected to their inner child. The element adds a sense of warmth to the song while reinforcing its central message about remembering the dreams once held without hesitation.
The production of “Backseat” also brought together Aziz’s close collaborators, including producer Dila Sarah, with important input from A&R Keke Kananta of Sony Music Entertainment Indonesia. Their contributions helped shape the song’s production and arrangement into its final form. For Aziz, the first verse remains one of the most memorable parts of the song, recalling a childhood filled with limitless dreams.
