d4vd Releases Debut Album ‘WITHERED’ — A Heartfelt Exploration of Love and Loss

Bingkai Karya – Breakout genre-defying artist, d4vd, has officially released his debut album — ‘WITHERED’ — a 15-track collection that showcases his excellence as a songwriter, artist, and performer. This album takes listeners through the evolution and life cycle of a rose, a symbol that often appears in d4vd’s visual work. Each song is intended to be played in sequence, like chapters in a book that tells the story of a relationship falling apart. The album is filled with love that is found, lost, created, and destroyed in every verse and melody.

The focus track, “Is This Really Love?”, along with its music video, has also been released. Directed by Tommy Kilroy, the video features d4vd’s signature visuals: blood-stained shirts, dark atmospheres, and eerie red threads that blur the lines between heartbreak and hallucination.

Following his two introductory EPs ‘Petals to Thorns’ and ‘The Lost Petals’, which first introduced him to the world, this album is a brilliant blend of various musical influences formed into one emotional body of work. Included in the album are the latest single “What Are You Waiting For,” an energetic and emotional pop track; the melancholic “Crashing,” featuring alt-pop expert Kali Uchis; and the hit single “Feel It,” which appeared in Season 2 of the major Amazon Prime Video animated series ‘Invincible’, and is currently streaming over 2 million times per day.

Ahead of the album release, d4vd also announced his latest world tour, which will take him across the United States, Canada, Europe, and the United Kingdom. The announcement came after his explosive performance at Coachella earlier this month, which also marked his debut at the prestigious music festival. Fans can expect an immersive concert experience, with d4vd involved directly in every creative element—from stage design to visuals and the emotional flow of each night’s show. This marks a new beginning for him, reflecting his evolution as both a performer and a visionary.

About d4vd

d4vd, whose real name is David Burke, rose to fame as a visionary artist just a year after he began writing and recording songs in his sister’s closet in Houston, Texas. His love for rap and indie music grew from internet explorations and fan-made Fortnite montage videos on YouTube, which he also created during homeschooling. Since his gaming montages were constantly hit with copyright claims, his mother suggested he make his own music instead. With the BandLab app, he transformed from a beginner into a confident singer-songwriter. He has released several successful singles across indie, pop, and R\&B genres. He broke out with his 2022 summer hit “Romantic Homicide,” now RIAA Multi-Platinum certified. Recorded on an iPhone, the song reached number 34 on the Billboard Hot 100 and led to d4vd signing with Darkroom/Interscope even before finishing high school. His next hit, the slow-tempo beach ballad “Here With Me,” also entered the Billboard Hot 100 in January 2023 and is now Platinum-certified by the RIAA.

d4vd’s first EP, ‘Petals to Thorns’, established him as a genre-defying newcomer, earning him spots on Billboard’s 21 Under 21 and Variety’s Young Hollywood lists. He followed it with ‘The Lost Petals’, a continuation of the ‘Petals to Thorns’ universe and a bridge to his next phase. After a successful solo tour and a sold-out European tour, d4vd delivered a stunning performance at the Valentino Men’s SS24 Fashion Week in Milan. Since then, he has joined top R\&B singer SZA on the North American S.O.S tour, sold out his 2024 tour ‘My House Is Not A Home’ before it began, and performed on major festival stages like Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo.

He has also collaborated with The Kid Laroi, Laufey, 21 Savage, and contributed to various projects including Netflix’s ‘Arcane’, Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Invincible’, ‘Call of Duty’, and ‘Fortnite’. His intuitive lyricism stems from years of writing rap and poetry in journals, with lyrics inspired by his many interests including manga and anime. His third Hot 100 entry, “Feel It,” was originally recorded for the ‘Invincible’ soundtrack but later gained popularity and became his latest trend-breaking achievement. For his debut album ‘WITHERED’, d4vd returns to his roots, creating music again in his sister’s closet in Houston using BandLab, while also recording sessions in London and Los Angeles with top songwriters like Ryan Tedder and Tyler Spry. At just 20 years old, d4vd is becoming the voice of his generation, continuing to reach new artistic heights while staying true to his beginnings.
