Fontaines D.C. Kick Off Major North American Tour with the Release of ‘ROMANCE (Deluxe Edition)’

Bingkai Karya – As they kick off their biggest North American tour to date in Seattle, Irish quintet Fontaines D.C. have released the Deluxe Edition of their critically acclaimed fourth album, ROMANCE. Now available on all digital platforms via XL Recordings, ROMANCE (Deluxe Edition) adds three new tracks to the original 11-song album.

Among the highlights is the brand-new single “It’s Amazing To Be Young”, accompanied by a visually stunning music video directed by Luna Carmoon. The deluxe edition also features “Before You I Just Forget”, a fresh, immersive track produced by James Ford, and a stripped-down live version of “Starburster”. The latter blends the band’s biggest hit to date with David Lynch’s haunting “In Heaven (Lady In The Radiator Song)”, originally from the 1977 cult film Eraserhead.Discussing the new material, guitarist Conor Curley shared, “‘Before You I Just Forget’ started from the vision of a sound that echoes endlessly—something that breathes and shifts, revealing new details with each listen. Like stepping into a river you can never enter twice, the song evolves and ends with a beautiful string section by Grian.

”This deluxe release kicks off a packed summer of performances for Fontaines D.C. Beyond their 24-date North American tour—culminating in three sold-out nights at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom on May 16–18—the band will perform to over 100,000 fans at four massive UK outdoor headline shows. These include a 45,000-capacity event at Finsbury Park, London on July 5, as well as dates in Manchester, Cardiff, and Newcastle. The summer shows follow a sold-out global tour across Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Americas, along with key appearances at major international festivals. The year 2024 has proven pivotal for Fontaines D.C. ROMANCE has been celebrated as one of the year’s best albums, firmly establishing the group as one of contemporary music’s most exciting acts. Produced by James Ford, the album quickly achieved gold certification in the UK, earned the band a BRIT Award, and received two GRAMMY nominations, among numerous accolades. Critics from NME, The Guardian, and Rolling Stone UK have given the album glowing five-star reviews, while legendary musician Elton John praised them as “the best band in the world right now.

”A bold musical evolution, ROMANCE builds on the band’s celebrated 2022 release Skinty Fia and marks a creative leap for members Grian Chatten (vocals), Carlos O’Connell (guitar), Conor Curley (guitar), Conor Deegan (bass), and Tom Coll (drums). With its innovative soundscapes and striking visuals, ROMANCE affirms Fontaines D.C. as, in the words of NME, “a band defining their generation.”
