Bingkai Karya– Tangerang pop folk band Daun Jatuh, headed by vocalist Verrel Alvirizky and guitarist Timothy Gunung Tua, released “Tuk Singgah”. The song describes how hard it is to commit to a relationship and romance. Additionally, Prilly Latuconsina was an integral part of the creative team that worked on “Tuk Singgah” with Daun Jatuh.
Friday, November 8, 2024, Daun Jatuh and Prilly Latuconsina attended a press conference at the Tosari Transjakarta bus station in Jakarta to celebrate this release. Many consider Transjakarta bus stops part of “Tuk Singgah” as a means of public transit. Therefore, the collaboration with Transjakarta is the ideal time and place to release “Tuk Singgah”. Both sides can use this relationship to give public transit and music enthusiasts interactive experiences.
On the same day as the release, Daun Jatuh and Prilly Latuconsina invited selected fans on a Transjakarta tour bus. They interacted and amused fans with the song to build their bond with Daun Jatuh and Prilly Latuconsina’s artistic journey.
The unplanned collaboration with Prilly makes this release more intriguing. They had half-finished “Tuk Singgah” before meeting Prilly. Warner Music Indonesia’s A&R told us Prilly wanted to collaborate, and we were astonished. Why? Prilly is perfect for this song’s robust flavor, which we sought from the start. Her singing brings the music to life, according to the two members of Daun Jatuh.
Unplanned Collaboration
El, Daun Jatuh’s vocalist, said meeting Prilly made songwriting easy. From music arrangement to vocal recording, Daun Jatuh and Prilly completed the song.
After talking, we took the demo home and worked on the arrangement and music. He claimed they recorded with Prilly and were supported by Vincent Vivaldi, the song’s producer and voice director. After hearing the song, Prilly believed it related to her personal experience, especially with romance in this era. “When I listened to it, I felt that this song is very relate and I felt sad,” she said.
He commented on ‘Tuk Singgah’s message. “I think many individuals today are afraid to commit. Fear of marriage or significant relationships. For instance, netizens think my busy life and independence make guys reluctant to contact me. Prilly stated a guy approached me but was hesitant to go farther and didn’t want to let me go, but there are still many considerations, especially from my hectic life.”
After Daun Jatuh released “Semoga Masih Ada Waktu”, “Tuk Singgah” was released and would be followed by more songs in the coming months. Daun Jatuh will release their 3rd EP with Warner Music Indonesia soon. Timothy, Daun Jatuh’s guitarist, hopes everyone enjoys and interprets this song differently.
