Bingkai Karya-Efek Rumah Kaca releases the vinyl version of “Rimpang,” in collaboration with the record label demajors, after initially being released in digital and CD formats. The vinyl release of “Rimpang” will come in two versions: a standard black vinyl and a limited edition clear vinyl.
Inspired by the rhizome theory of Deleuze and Guattari, “Rimpang” represents how hopes, small or big emerge randomly, non-linearly, and without hierarchy. Spreading quietly through various situations, whether relaxed or tense.
The single “Heroik” is the first release from the album, providing a glimpse into ERK’s musical direction. Another track, “Fun Kaya Fun,” features Suraa (the pseudonym of Cempaka Surakusumah), who has frequently collaborated with ERK on stage.
At the Anugerah Musik Indonesia (AMI) Awards 2023, “Rimpang” was nominated for Best Alternative Album. Also the single “Fun Kaya Fun” was shortlisted for Best Alternative Duo/Group/Collaboration. These nominations highlight the album’s significant impact and positive reception.
