Bingkai Karya – Renowned French multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer FKJ launches a new chapter in his career with the release of his latest single, “Soulmates,” arriving alongside the announcement of his third studio album, ‘Tyber,’ set for release this September.
Warm, expansive, and rhythmically fluid, “Soulmates” showcases FKJ’s instinctive approach to composition and serves as the first offering from the world of ‘Tyber’. Rich in both technical musicianship and emotional depth, the track embodies the balance that has long been central to FKJ’s artistry while channeling a sense of summertime joy guided by guitar work reminiscent of Carlos Santana. More than a love song, “Soulmates” carries a deeper meaning and purpose for FKJ.
“‘Soulmates’ is about celebrating our solitude. For me, alone time is important, and I make time for myself. But I also care deeply about my soulmates, the important people in my life. It’s all about balance.” – FKJ
“Soulmates” offers a glimpse into ‘Tyber’, a project that is being hailed as FKJ’s most expansive and boundaryless work to date. The album captures a period of profound creative and personal transformation following the release of ‘V I N C E N T’ in 2022. Written and recorded across England, the United States, France, Brazil, the Philippines, and Mexico, ‘Tyber’ reflects FKJ’s life in motion, filled with travel, solitude, collaboration, and renewal. Each destination left its mark on the music, resulting in a collection that effortlessly blends groove-driven compositions with jazz instrumentals, sample-based explorations, and focused songwriting moments. Moving fluidly between funk, alt-pop, R&B, and psychedelic textures, the album paints a portrait of an artist documenting his evolution in real time. ‘Tyber’ also features an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Lucy Park, Baby Rose, Bas, Eryn Allen Kane, and Labrinth.
Throughout his career, FKJ has earned widespread acclaim for pushing musical boundaries, particularly within the French electronic music scene. Often recognized as a pioneer of the New French House movement, he has developed a signature style built around live instrumentation, improvisation, looping, and layered production. His French heritage remains a guiding thread throughout his work, even as his music draws inspiration from cultures and communities around the world. To date, FKJ has amassed more than 4.6 million followers across platforms, 4 billion global streams, and 2.5 million YouTube subscribers, cementing his reputation as an artist known for immersive audiovisual experiences. Timeless yet experimental, FKJ has crafted a singular musical universe that seamlessly blends jazz, soul, classical, hip-hop, funk, rock, and electronic influences. His technical mastery and intimate atmosphere continue to resonate with audiences worldwide.
With “Soulmates,” ‘Tyber’, and an international tour currently in the works, FKJ enters a new era fueled by renewed energy and a vision to push his music forward while staying true to the instincts that have shaped his career from the very beginning.
About FKJ & Tyber
‘Tyber’ documents FKJ’s journey of self-discovery in the years following the release of V I N C E N T in 2022, particularly after reaching personal lows and emerging into a brighter chapter of his life. Musically, the album is an adventurous and naturally flowing exploration across genres, from funk, jazz, and rock to alt-pop and R&B. The songs vary in approach, ranging from some of the grooviest material of FKJ’s career to compositions centered on songwriting fundamentals, jazz instrumentals, and sample-heavy productions. Rich in variety, the album reflects the global travels during which it was created, with each track serving as a Polaroid snapshot of a larger story.
Balance serves as both the theme and connective thread throughout the album, not only within the music itself but also in FKJ’s collaborative philosophy, which is rooted in artistry, connection, and shared creative intention. This new era follows a series of collaborations with acclaimed artists including Yussef Dayes, JENNIE, Jordan Rakei, DEAN, and Sofiane Pamart.
To introduce ‘Tyber’ to the world, FKJ is developing a cinematic arthouse film series shot in Japan, featuring him aboard a spaceship, a metaphor for his home studio and the origin of his creative journey. He is also currently designing a new live performance format, prioritizing a solo show concept that most authentically reflects the entirely self-directed process behind the album.
This continues FKJ’s exploration of unique and transportive performance spaces, following acclaimed appearances for Cercle at Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni, Live From The Greenhouse with Yussef Dayes, and a series of intimate performances filmed in his home studio.
“There’s something deeply spiritual about sharing these stories through music, especially when people can fully immerse themselves in the experience of ‘Tyber’,” FKJ explains.
“Everything and every place along this journey has been important, it’s felt like a mission to become a better version of myself. I’ve listened to this album countless times, and it still surprises me and brings me into a state of peace. I hope people can feel the same way.”– FKJ
