Bingkai Karya-Fontaines D.C. released “Here’s The Thing.” It is the third single released from their highly anticipated fourth album “ROMANCE.” Will be released on August 23 via XL Recordings.
“Here’s The Thing” was written a few days before the band entered the studio to record the album. The track blends the gritty, distorted guitar riffs reminiscent of Placebo with the electronic vibes of Shygirl and Eartheater. “It’s an anxious tune that goes round and round in what it wants. Going back and forth between pain and numbness,” explains Chatten. The song captures a sense of urgency, exploring the quest for autonomy amidst intense emotional extremes.
The music video for “Here’s The Thing,” directed by the renowned Luna Carmoon (known for Hoard, Shagbands, and Nosebleed), vividly captures the song’s intense emotions and sense of paranoia. Drawing inspiration from classic teen horror films like The Lost Boys and Phenomena, Carmoon’s video immerses viewers in the chaotic world of a traditional Irish dance competition, all seen through her distinct and eerie perspective.
