To celebrate Good Hair Day every March 26, there’s nothing wrong if you give a special touch to your hair with treatments that you can do at home. Hair care is certainly different because the type of hair also varies, one of which is wavy hair. For those of you who have wavy hair, there are many important considerations and notes that you need to know, both in terms of nutrition and styling. Check out these 3 tips you should know for your wavy hair!
- Apply Extra Conditioner to Your Hair
According to Seventeen, New York City hairdresser Devin Toth and skin and hair care specialist Rocio Rivera, PhD, it is better to apply extra conditioner to wavy hair type. Wavy hair tends to dry easily compared to straight hair which tends to get greasy easily. Dr Rivera also suggests using more conditioner as well as using a Leave-In conditioner before styling or drying your hair. Devin Toth added to not forget to avoid the root area because it can make your hair look greasy.

- Minimize Using High Heat to Styling
In order to minimize heat damage, you can use less heat-styling. Devin says that repeated use of heat-styling can change your natural hair texture, making your hair even more frizzy. Always apply heat protectant before heat-styling. Devin also says to make sure your hair is completely dry before heat-styling as damp hair will pull your hair out of proportion.
- Use a silk or satin pillowcase to Sleep
Using a pillowcase made of silk or satin can actually provide benefits for hair, especially for wavy, curly, and coily hair. Pillows made of silk or satin can help keep each strand of hair from breaking easily, making hair stronger and free of frizz.
