4 Reasons Why Lip Products with SPF are Important to Include in Your Routine

Using sunscreen is one of the best ways you can do to maintain the health of your body as a whole. Applying sunscreen every day will protect us from exposure to UV rays, which cause skin cancer and premature aging.

However, most of us still focus on facial and body skin care. Based on a study, 63% of sunscreen users miss protection in the lip area. SPF for the lip area is also important. Why is that?

  1. Sensitive areas

The skin on the lip area is quite thin compared to other skin areas, and therefore the lips are more sensitive and susceptible to sun damage. By applying a lip balm or lip care that contains SPF to the lips more often, it will provide full protection to our lips.

  1. Prevent skin cancer on the lips.

The lip area is also sensitive to skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) caused by too much exposure to direct sunlight. This cancer is the second most common cancer compared to other cancers.
