“The event is for safari Ramadhan we do in cities and regencies across East Java, which we also discuss with the host of the event,” said Khofifah, the East Java Governor.
The event was attended by not only East Java Governor, but also the Head of East Java Baznas, Drs. KH Muhammad Roziqi, MM., Malang City Mayor, Drs. H. Sutiaji, and other officials. This is Grand Mercure Malang Mirama’s second year collaborating with Malang City and East Java Baznas to conduct “Baznas Berbagi Ceria”.
“This year Ramadan is the right time for us to share with them (orphans). This event is the gathering moment for them to be delighted to meet each other,” stated Sugito Adhi, the General Manager of Grand Mercure Malang Mirama. He also hopes that they can conduct this event annually together with Baznas.
Muhammad Roziqi stated that the 750 orphans invited consisted of 500 orphans from East Java Baznas and 250 from Malang City Baznas. They gave school kits and financial support. The event was so delightful with laughter and happiness among the participants. Dra. Hj. Khofifah greeted and took photos with them.
