Grand Mercure Malang Mirama with Y AMI and Nurul Hayat Present “Khitan Ceria” for Special Needs Children

Grand Mercure Malang Mirama together with the Malang Branch of the Ananda Mutiara Indonesia Foundation (Y AMI) held a mass circumcision with the theme “Khitan Ceria” in order to celebrate International Children with Down Syndrome Day.

There were 45 participants with an age range of 2–21 years attending the event. This event targeted and prioritized children with various disabilities, from Autism, Down Syndrome, Deaf, Mentally Disabled, Low Vision, slow speech, spastic cerebral palsy, ADD, microcephaly, athetoid CP and so on.

Deputy Mayor of Malang City, Ir. H. Edy Sofyan Jarwoko gave remarks and motivation for the parents who attended the event. Elly Estiningtyas also reminded us to always be grateful and share the goodness that we have.

Ir. H. Edy Sofyan Jarwoko said, “All of these are gifts from God given to selected people, where this activity is also one of the efforts for the future of children, especially those with disabilities.” 

This event was the third program with Y AMI and this time it was held at the Grand Mercure Malang Mirama. Y AMI hopes that all children with disabilities can fulfill their religious orders and also for health through this program.

Sugito Adhi as General Manager of Grand Mercure Malang Mirama said, “We as a hotel are not only looking for a commercial aspect but socially active events must also be a balancing act at Grand Mercure Malang Mirama. Currently, we have also recruited 4 people with disabilities who have worked with us until now.” 

He also said that the hotel always does social activities every month. Starting from January to March, they have conducted agendas, like Mass Marriages, Down Syndrome Model Hunt, and Mass Circumcision.
