Guotie is a pan-fried dumpling from Northern China. That is commonly filled with minced pork, Chinese cabbage, scallions, ginger, rice wine, and sesame seed oil. Malaysia’s savory roti canai, a flatbread with a soft interior that is pan-fried, typically with ghee, to produce a crispy outer layer, comes in second. The dough, which is made of flour, water, eggs, and fat, is folded repeatedly to create a layered texture in the flatbread.
Japan’s karaage, which took 6th place, and Vietnam’s bánh mi, which took 7th place, are also in the top 10. Karaage, or Japanese fried chicken, is made from pre-marinated chicken that has been lightly coated in arrowroot starch before being deep-fried,resulting in meat that is succulent on the inside and crispy on the outside. Karaage dishes are typically seasoned with garlic and ginger and served with a side of soy sauce.
Meanwhile, bánh mì is a sandwich made up of a baguette with a delicate crust and filling that is tender, chewy, and soft with a slightly sweet flavour. Originally, they were filled with meat and seasonings, with no vegetables added. However, the variety of fillings available today has expanded.
Users of the site decide on the ratings. China’s Shengjian mantou ranked 12th, indonesia’s bubur ayam ranked 13th, and South Korea’s hotteok (sweet pancake) ranked 50th (38th).
