Hindia Struggle with Despair and Transience in “Janji Palsu”

Hindia marks 2023 as the end of the wait for new masterpieces from him. Released by Sun Eater to digital music platforms on March 3, 2023, “Janji Palsu” is the thunderous first single from Lagipula Hidup akan Berakhir, Hindia’s second full-length album to be released in two phases, on July 7 and 21, 2023.

As he had already done on his debut album Menari Dalam Bayangan released in 2019, Baskara Putra “Hindia” returned to pouring what he felt in his personal life into Lagipula Hidup akan Berakhir, and “Janji Palsu” was chosen as the first single because it can give an idea of the contents of the album.

In “Janji Palsu”, the sharp and restless lyrics that have become the hallmark of the Hindia are combined with medium-tempo but aggressive music thanks to the direction of Enrico Octaviano, Hindia partner in the Lomba Sihir group who was entrusted as the producer for the song and also as one of the two lead producer on the album Lagipula Hidup akan Berakhir with Kareem Soenharjo.

In addition to Enrico as a producer and composer with Baskara, “Janji Palsu” also involves contributions from familiar names in the Hindia life, such as Rayhan Noor who fills in on electric guitar and Petra Sihombing on electric guitar, as well as Gamaliel Tapiheru who directs vocals as well as backing vocals. There is also a bass line from Adrian Mahendra, his own older brother.

With the phenomenal success that Menari Dengan Bayangan has achieved since its release in late 2019 – including the respective streams which have exceeded 100 million on Spotify for the signature songs “Evaluation”, “Sudah Cukup” and “Rumah ke Rumah”, winning AMI Awards, and gave catharsis to who knows how many listeners – there must be a lot of expectations for the Indies to be able to repeat this success.
