Indonesian Indie Pop Duo More on Mumbles Ditch Their Folky Sound For a New, Upbeat Direction with Their Latest Single “Berdalih.”

Bingkai Karya – The track, a departure from their previous releases “Good For You” and “Such Is Life,” showcases a more electronic-infused sound and aims to broaden the band’s sonic palette.

Guitarist Awan explains, “While some have labeled our music as folk-pop, we embrace variety. ‘Berdalih’ injects a fresh energy into our repertoire, hopefully attracting listeners who may not have connected with our earlier stuff.”

“Berdalih,” penned by the duo and produced by Enrico Octaviano, delves into the emotional rollercoaster of unexpected abandonment. Vocalist Lintang shares, “The song explores the bewilderment and denial we often experience after a sudden breakup, resorting to blaming external factors instead of introspection.”

Fueled by denial-laced lyrics like “You said we’re no longer the same, how is that possible?” and “I’m trying to wrap my head around it, don’t you think you’re overthinking it?”, “Berdalih” serves as a poignant reminder that emotional processing takes time. Lintang emphasizes, “It’s okay to feel confused and unsure after a breakup. Take your time, be kind to yourself, and eventually, acceptance and moving on will follow.”

“Berdalih” marks a bold new chapter for “More on Mumbles“, showcasing their artistic evolution and inviting listeners to embark on a vibrant sonic journey.
