Bingkai Karya– On his debut album, ‘PEACHY KEEN’, singer-songwriter Jackson Lundy weaves pop, R&B, soul, rock, and country around relatable memories.
This album welcomes Americana, country, and grunge, expanding his sound palette. Jackson Lundy says, “In the past, I’ve made very conceptual projects, but I looked at this as my opportunity to put every style I like into one body of work.” “I tried to be diverse. The production is large but intimate.”
Jackson’s music is honest and nostalgic, and ‘PEACHY KEEN’ is no exception. From his 10-year-old personal archives, Jackson selected songs and musical styles he loved as a child and wished to revive. The album was produced by Nick Smith (emei, GOVAN, SMLE, Jillian Rossi), Kevin Farzad (Valley Boy, Outside Air), and Dylan Byrnes. Sarah Kang, Charles Gaines, and Claudia Abena collaborated on it. “I wanted to showcase the kinds of music I grew up on as a way of saying thank you to all my heroes,”
Jackson explains. “It’s exciting to bring back some of this record’s inspirations, which are rarely heard. Ragtime, bossa, neo soul, country, and Pixar are present.” The single follows “runnin’,” a collaboration with Sarah Kang, and “work friends,” the album lead single. Jackson wrote about his experience in a restaurant kitchen and fantasizing to pass the time.
“I created “Work Friends” about my time working in a restaurant kitchen and thinking up this vision of intense love for a coworker who is taken. And the hopelessness of seeing that person with someone else while washing dishes every day “Jackson explains.
