Jikustik has entered their 27th year in the Indonesian music industry. Their journey over 27 years, having produced dozens of hits enjoyed by music enthusiasts from different generations in Indonesia, is proof of Jikustik’s maturity in creating heart-touching music for their fans.
After an 8-year hiatus in releasing albums, the mid-year of 2023 became a momentum for Jikustik to release a Mini Album titled “Back 4 Good,” which includes their four best works. This release will be done gradually until October 2023. “We chose to release it gradually because we want the message we want to convey through each piece in this album to be well-received,” said Ardy Nurdin, known as Dadik, the guitarist of Jikustik. The gradual release is done because Jikustik believes that a musical work doesn’t just end with the listeners’ ears; it can also become a part of the music enthusiasts’ lives.
Jikustik remade “Puisi (2023 Version) for the first single in the Mini Album “Back 4 Good,” released on July 21, 2023. They hoped that this new formulation in the song can be enjoyed and become the daily companion for music enthusiasts in Indonesia from various generations. “With this new arrangement formulation, Jikustik adapts to the new habits of music enthusiasts in enjoying a musical work while also bringing back memories for the listeners who have grown up with the song ‘Puisi’ since its release 17 years ago,” said Icha Aji, the vocalist and bass player of Jikustik.

By providing a new arrangement formulation in the song “Puisi (2023 Version),” they hoped that it would create a new experience and atmosphere in enjoying Jikustik’s work, which has been around for almost 20 years since its release. “In this version, Icha, as the vocalist, delivers the song with a more relaxed style,” said Eros, the guitarist of Sheila on Seven, after listening to the single “Puisi (2023 Version)” by Jikustik.
In addition to adding a fresh touch to their musical arrangements, Jikustik hopes that the integrity of the message in the song “Puisi” will be fully accepted by music enthusiasts in the homeland.
